MICHAEL BROWN........HOW 'BOUT MOVING TO FERGUSON?
Have you fought with a cop lately or wrestled with him? What
do you mean no? Isn't this normal? The issue is that Michael Brown was gunned
down, well for sure that’s an issue, but can we also say a teen wrestling,
fighting with an Officer of the Law is also an issue? I will check with my son
when I get home tonight, before speaking out of turn, but I’m pretty sure he
has not recently wrestled a Police Officer for his gun, at least not recently.
And if I come to find out he has I definitely will ask him, “and what were you
going to do once you wrestled the gun from the officer?” And if my son hasn’t
wrestled a Police Officer for his gun recently (or ever) than I will ask my
friends if they can ask their sons, because this is “normal American” “normal
descent kids, good kids, like Michael Brown, wrestling Cops for their guns,
this is what decent kids do, according to the media and the town of, oh what’s
the name of that town in Missouri, oh I know, it’s the town I don’t want to
live in or raise my kids in, yeah, that town, I think they call it Ferguson.
Why don’t I want to live there, cause there’s black people? No, some of my best
friends are black. Why don’t I want to
live there, because there’s murder? No, there’s murder in the city that I live
in. I don’t want to live there because there’s a culture there that makes
nothing of a youth wrestling with an armed Police Officer. There’s a culture
that makes like this is just the activity of another Friday night. I never played that game when I was a
teenager, so I don’t know how it’s played. So in the game of “steal the gun
from the
po-po”what comes after that? Do you shoot him with it, do
you put it to his head and make him crap his pants, how does the game go, I
hope nobody gets hurt. I was considered
a bad teen. I did drugs, drank, did pranks, got in fights (with other unarmed
teens) and did the normal carousing, but wrestling a cop for his gun was never
quite my thing. Call me white trailer trash if you want, but I just liked
partying, girls, night clubs and when I saw cops I saw authority, I saw someone
I better straighten up around, I saw someone I better respect and if that cop
happened to call me out, I’d better say, “yes sir”. “Well you don’t know what it’s like not to be
liked and be a minority and picked on”, you say. Actually, I did, I wasn't black, but I was a
Punk Rocker, and the cops did not like us, we were bad news and trouble to them.
I didn't like cops, I didn't like authority and they didn't like us. But I knew
the boundaries, I knew where the line was drawn and I did not cross it, no
matter how high or drunk I was. This is the generation and a culture that is
arising that sides with the aggressor. We have taken this so far that a burglar
can sue the very ones he was robbing if he is beat or assaulted in that home,
while he is robbing those people. Whoever screams loudest, whoever screams
“race, race, race” whoever screams, “injustice, injustice, injustice” whoever
makes the most noise and threatens to cause the most “bad press” for the
community or for the politicians or pundits of the day will be the one who the
media and Public Relations Liaisons will side with. This is called “reverse
psychology”, I learned this in Psyche 101 in College. I remember one time when
I was drinking and driving (I mentioned I was bad teen didn’t I?) coming off
the highway exit and running right into the medium divide. We flipped and
rolled, there was smoke and fire. We all
by the Grace of God walked out of that car alive. Somebody saw the accident and
called 911. I knew the cops were on the way and I was as drunk and high as I
could possibly be. I thought to myself, “what do I do, they will all me off to
jail in a heartbeat?” Then I had this idea,
“reverse psychology”, they will come interrogating me, putting me on the spot,
but I will reverse that, I will put them
on the defensive. As soon as the cops stepped out of the car I began yelling at
them, “where have you been, we were almost killed, this drunken fool ran us off
the side off the road and almost killed us. I called you guys almost 30 minutes
ago”. Immediately the Police Officer was on the defensive apologizing and
apologizing and went off running down the highway after a car that didn't
exist, never thinking to give me a breathalyzer. I was the guilty party, but my
screaming the loudest, by my going on the aggressive I put those Police Officers
on the defensive and it worked perfectly. Well, this still works today. There
is so much politics involved now in this saga that this is no longer an
objective case, of facts and right and wrong, it’s become totally subjective
and the outcome may have nothing to do with facts, right and wrong. The outcome
may be what those that scream the loudest and those that are most aggressive
and most threatening, demand to hear! And if they don’t, there will be hell to
pay and everybody in Ferguson
knows that; from the Mayor all the way down to the Chief of Police, the facts
at this point are irrelevant.
