DECEMBER 7 "IS PROZAC HELPING?"

Image
Depression & Oppression, is it normal, natural, hereditary or demonic? I believe it can be at times, a little of both. We have the drudgery of life, at times, not all of us are going skydiving or whitewater rafting every week-end. Most of us are not taking road trips every week-end. Life becomes monotonous, same old every day. No adventures and we can start feeling like we are in a rut, bored and unmotivated, Mix that with a few marriage problems, teen problems and some weight gain and we become very vulnerable to depression. There’s a very natural course to depression but there’s also a very unnatural one too, the demonic. The bible admonishes us to “cast down imaginations”. To bind, to rebuke. Witchcraft is not some women that doesn’t’ like you, sitting on the floor of her apartment, dressed in black, pronouncing curses on you. Witchcraft is simply a term for bewitching, it’s a bewitching of the mind and this is where the enemy strikes, in our imaginations. It’s one thing to...

DECEMBER 3 "GOD'S NOT GOING TO FIX THIS!"

Image
It’s interesting to see the cultural divide in tragedy, that we are beginning to see more and more in America . We can all appreciate honesty, it sure get the conversation going. “God’s not going to fix this” is an excellent dialogue to have. We see the cultural divide, don’t we! The secular side says, we need to take action, let’s get this fixed by our own means”. The Christian side of course says, “let’s pray”.  “God’s not going to fix this” is something that even many religious people believe deep down, they simply voice that they will pray, but they don’t. They simply voice that they will pray as a gesture to say, “I care, I have empathy for you, for what you’re going through”. What’s ironic is God can fix this, but He won’t. He won’t because I’m not thinking America is going to turn from the trajectory that She is on, which is full blown out secularism. Sure God can fix this, but only by us fixing ourselves first. As a nation, we are spiritually lethargic at best and spir...

NOVEMBER 12 "STARBUCKS = COFFEE - NOT GOSPEL"

Image
Is the issue that the red paper cup doesn’t say “Merry Christmas” or is the real issue that Christians have lost their way?  Christians are focused on forcing institutions, like Starbucks, to be Christian, instead of focusing on the people within those institutions. We want every business to be like Hobby-Lobby or Chick-Fil-A, but those institutions are not Christian because some obnoxious Christian forced Christianity upon their business, but because a man was converted to Christ by a one on one witness by a caring Christian and then when they started their business the implemented Christian ethics and values. If you want more Christian’s businesses, then reach more people who will in turn start more Christian businesses. You cannot legislate morality, it must come from within; and it only comes from within through conversion. As Scripture states, "if any man be in Christ he is a new creation". Society is losing it’s away along Christians who are losing their way, thenc...

LAMAR ODOM LIVING OUT SEXUAL FANTASIES

Image
Lama Odom will go down no doubt by many as the man who went down living out his sexual fantasies. He will join the likes of Tiger Woods who is still struggling to make a personnel recovery both in his personnel and professional life. To be honest, I had to look up what a brothel was. Hopefully my wife does look at my Google Searches and see that I was looking up "Brothels" I could have problems in my own house, real quick! Obviously I had a sneaking suspicion what it might be, but I had to see for sure. As I was reading about what a Brothel is and specifically the Brothel in Nevada, I thought immediately of a Harem. I thought of King David and King Solomon who lived in Brothels, they just called them Harems or concubines, instead of Brothels, but they were always sleeping with different women. They called them Concubines instead of ........Times changed didn't they? In the New Testament Christians begin to preach "husband of one wife". The standard for m...

50 SHADES OF GREY

Image
50 Shades of Grey just goes to prove what I've been saying for a long time. It is not “sex” our culture is obsessed with; it’s illicit, immoral sex. Take two people, marry them, put rings on their fingers, stick them in a bedroom and say, “have all the sex you want” it’s our cultural obsession, go for it, have at it…… they’ll be out in 20 minutes tops, reading their blogs, eating or watching T.V. and may not enter that bedroom for a repeat for another 7 days or so. (What happened to our obsession with sex?) Couples today in monogamous relationships are averaging sex about once per week and that’s a couple with a healthy relationship. The two biggest problems in marriage today is finances and sex and it both situations the complaint is the same, “not enough!”.  50 Shades of Grey makes it plain and clear, it’s not sex we are obsessed about, it’s the knottiness of it. The knottier the better! My wife, my husband, aghhhhh, that’s not exciting. Exciting for men was the “thrill of the...
