DECEMBER 3 "GOD'S NOT GOING TO FIX THIS!"
It’s interesting to see the
cultural divide in tragedy, that we are beginning to see more and more in America . We can
all appreciate honesty, it sure get the conversation going. “God’s not going to
fix this” is an excellent dialogue to have. We see the cultural divide, don’t
we! The secular side says, we need to take action, let’s get this fixed by our
own means”. The Christian side of course says, “let’s pray”. “God’s not going to fix this” is something
that even many religious people believe deep down, they simply voice that they
will pray, but they don’t. They simply voice that they will pray as a gesture
to say, “I care, I have empathy for you, for what you’re going through”. What’s
ironic is God can fix this, but He won’t. He won’t because I’m not thinking America is
going to turn from the trajectory that She is on, which is full blown out
secularism. Sure God can fix this, but only by us fixing ourselves first. As a
nation, we are spiritually lethargic at best and spiritually dead at worse. I
agree, it’s not one Christian saying “I’m gonna pray for the grieving families”
that is going to stop the next shooting massacre. It’s not even 20, it’s not
even a whole church gathering together that is going to stop the next shooting
massacre, in that sense, they are right, “God’s not going to fix this”. But
only because we won’t fix ourselves, only because we won’t pray and seek his
face, as a nation. God will fix this if the author of that article will turn to
Him. God will fix this if the
politicians return to God. “If my people
who are called by my name, will humble themselves, …….then I will heal their
land”. Definitely our land needs healing. 12 shooting massacres now, President
Obama has had to address as President in the past 7 years. I do emphasize with
those that say, “we have all these people massacred and all you Christians want
to say is, “let’s pray”, give me some action, never mind the prayer! And to
that I would say, Amen! But unfortunately for them, the news is, the action
must be repentance and prayer. And even then, it will take years to turn this
ship around. There is a spiritual vacuum in this country and that vacuum has
caused many people to turn to evil. Nobody is exempt from being a target of a random
shooting. We heard the story of the Pastor’s wife just a few weeks ago being
killed in her home. This is something America has to face together,
regardless of the cultural divide. The Christian and non-Christian must both go
to work, shop at the local stores and go to sporting events of their children,
knowing, they could one day be caught in a random and deadly shooting spree.
Let’s fix this. But let’s pray too! In the meantime, my hope is in God, not to
fix this, but to preserve me and those that know him. We may be taken out with
a bullet tomorrow, from the world, but we are not truly dead, we merely pass from
one life to the next, and I must say, the next life is much better, from what I
read (oh never mind, you don’t believe in that book). A random shooter cannot
take my life, he can only end it here on earth, and yes, that is sad and very
hard for those that are left behind, but the hope again, is God, it’s to
continue living on. Perhaps while we or the secular world are working to fix
this (how I don’t know) perhaps what we are to really work at fixing is our
relationship with God. The child, especially the teenager is the consummate narcissist.
It’s always the parent(s) that is at fault and to blame, never, ever…is it them!
We are all the children of God and we are that same narcissist towards Him. We
fail to see that the ills of society have nothing to do with God, but have
everything to do with us. We faced some
bad and hypocritical religions in the past decade or so, so what did we do, we
threw out the baby with the dirty bath water. Religion, we should have thrown
out, but kept God. Kick God out of your society and you leave a spiritual vacuum.
Look at France .
After the downfall with the Catholic Church, France kicked religion and God to
the curb and went secular, leaving a great spiritual vacuum in the people. The Muslims
had the insight to see that and took advantage of that spiritual vacuum and
flooded into France
with the Koran and Allah. Most Parisians you run into today are either Secular
or Muslim. The question America
needs to ask herself is, “Does she really want to go secular?” Do we really
want to go there? Where someday we get to the point where tragedy hits and we
put in large print “God’s not going to fix this!” Oh, sorry, we’re already there……..
